I had my first day of the year gardening in the sunshine at the weekend and got a taste for what's to come.
It's still a long way off, but it is lovely to think that these
will be racing up the trellises come summer and looking more like this
I must learn to be patient!

Looking at all the dank, brown debris yesterday, it seemed impossible to believe that there would be a time when the field was full of colour. But then I spotted the buds on the hydrangeas and the ranunculus leaves poking up and I remembered how it all happens - magically - every year, come what may. Hoorah! Jan x
I went for a walk in our garden yesterday, hoping for even just a peek of colour but there was nothing, save the odd berry. I can't wait for the first snowdrop. That's one of the best moments of the year, I think.
Oooh, I can't wait. I must learn to be more patient too!

I was thrilled to see that both the ranunculus and anemones have started poking their leaves up here too. I love the excitement of wandering around discovering all the new growth each week at this time of year!
I have never had much success with snowdrops in our garden, what's the secret?
