So if you are a regular on my facebook page or follow me on twitter then you will already know why I am excited, if not then I am about to tell you...
I am very excited to have been shortlisted for the hitched breakthrough awards 2012 in the best new wedding florist category! Having been shortlisted it is now over to you guys to vote, so if you would like to vote for me (and seriously make my day, week, month, year....) then please, please do pop over to the hitched page and click away. (I am there as Katherine Craft rather than Florist in the Forest, just to confuse matters.) Huge, huge thanks in advance for your votes. I will keep you posted.
And in the mean time I leave you with some flowers from today's wedding, a touch of autumn.

Summer Weddings...
Wow, how time has flown, I can't believe it has been 2 months since my last post!
It has been a very busy summer season of weddings and the autumn season is set to be just as exciting.
So here is a taster of what we have been up to.
I think that's enough for now, more to share another time...

Festival Fun
Last week I took part in a very exciting and mammoth photo shoot arranged by festival brides. It was third time lucky as the previous two dates had to be cancelled due to our temperamental weather, although typical of festivals, it was not quite what we had in mind for the shoot. It was worth the wait though as we had a beautiful day, even if we did have to battle with the wind a little. We had flower garlands, bouquets, flower belts, hanging vases and lots of bottles of flowers dotted around.
A sneak peek at what was going on...
Once I have the official pics I will be sure to share, can't wait.
As if having a photoshoot wasn't enough I also had two very different weddings this weekend.
The first was a natural country garden style of just white flowers, including lots from the cutting garden. The scent of the bouquet was amazing with scented pelargonium, sweet peas, freesias, sage and rosemary to name a few.
The other was an olympic themed wedding and so the bride chose mango callas for the effect of the torch for her bridesmaids and then a trailing bouquet for herself.
What started as a relaxing couple of days away for our anniversary turned in to a manic week of funerals, orders, contracts, photoshoot and weddings! Phew, so therefore enjoying a slightly calmer day today and sorting out the studio ready for the next wedding (next weekend - a collection of 96 vintage glass vases, better get washing up!!).
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Vintage peonies
Wedding Inspiration: Vintage Peonies & Mason Jars Images from Style me pretty and pinterest |
A little inspiration for this weeks wedding. The bride and groom have given a lot of thought to all the details for their wedding, collecting mason jars and making candles and bunting. The flowers will be a mix of pretty early summer blooms with a lot of peonies. Can't wait.

Growth...
It's been a while since I have been able to post about life in the cutting garden. That's not to say I've not been busy doing, but it just hasn't looked like much through a lens. Well finally everything is starting to burst in to life, some waiting to be picked and others to just look pretty exactly where they are.
So it won't be long now until I can start adding home grown beauties in to all the bouquets.

Phew...
So it was a busy one, my first mother's day working for myself and I am extremely happy with how it all went. Sold every last bouquet, so hopefully lots of very happy mother's around. A little taster of a few of the bouquets that hubby managed to get some pics of before they sold!
